Who I Am
I teach smartphone photography for Singapore People's Association. I'm a certified tennis coach who fell in love with pickleball. I'm a lousy fisherman with precious old gear from Coach Poh Huat and a whole lot of hope.
But let me tell you how it really started.
How I Got Here
In 1996, I was among a group sent by the Singapore Police Force for a 6-month, full-time Multimedia course at Singapore Polytechnic.
That was my first real classroom in visual storytelling. Composition. Lighting. Moments. The fundamentals I still teach today.
Long before smartphones. Long before "content creator" was a word. Just me, a camera, and a spark that never went out.
Decades later, I've won prizes. I've taught hundreds of students with the People's Association and Canon school talks. I stopped chasing awards and started chasing good light — especially in Belitung.

Belitung has everything I love as a photographer and fisherman.
Giant granite boulders at Tanjung Tinggi – sunrise is magic
Fishing villages on stilts – honest, beautiful, photogenic
Shallow turquoise water – perfect for smartphone landscapes
Traditional fishing boats – hand lines, local laughter, grilled catch on the beach
I've travelled across Southeast Asia. Belitung is where I keep coming back.
What I Offer in Belitung
📱 Smartphone Photowalk – Half or full day. I teach composition, lighting, storytelling. You use your own phone.
🎣 Fishing + Photo – Half day. Fish with locals + photography tips on the water. Then we grill.
📸 Private Tuition – 1-on-1 or small group. Bespoke itinerary.
Not a Photographer for Hire
I'm not someone who takes photos for you.
I'm a teacher who walks with you.
You use your own smartphone. I show you composition, lighting, storytelling. You leave with better photos — and the skills to keep taking them.
A Note on Money
Yes, I offer trips and experiences.
But here's what I really bring: passion and experience.
I've spent years learning. I've spent years teaching. Now I want to share what I love — in Belitung — with curious people like you.
Passion and experience first. That's what you're paying for.
